Tip #1: How to Put Away Your Valuables Correctly

Believe it or not, you must follow a few rules even when storing your items. The first thing you need to do is get a separate location to divide it from the rest of your jewellery. If you throw it into your already occupied jewellery box, you run the risk of the crystal getting scratched up. That would be a tragedy. The best thing to do is to place the items inside a little bag where they will be protected. Also be sure not to expose the items to direct sunlight. The heat can cause the crystal to lose its lustre. And once a crystal loses its lustre, it can't be brought back.

Tip #2: How to Properly Clean Your Hairpins

This one is self-explanatory for the most part. If your crystal looks dirty, take a gentle cloth free of lint and wipe it clean. If the cloth is unsuccessful, you may need a brush instead. Use one with soft bristles - a gentle toothbrush will do. Take the brush and dip it in a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Be sure to avoid harsh chemicals and very hot water. Obviously the higher quality your item is in the first place, the longer it will last. You can't reasonably expect imitation pearl to last quite as long as the real thing.
